No 18 Flowers Drive

This weatherboard and galvanised iron cottage was constructed between 1908-1915. The ‘Wallarah Coal-mining Company’ built the cottage to house its mineworkers.

Ces Marks and Else Ham were the first remembered occupants of this house.

In 1964 the coal company ‘Coal & Allied’ subdivided some of its land. The company determined that this house and land would be sold for 400 pounds to Mrs E Marks.

After Ces died his wife continued to live there for many years until she moved to Tweed Heads.

Bruce Mascord (son of Errol and Ev in No 10) moved into this house with his wife Sandra. There were two children. When Bruce died the house became a rental.

The house is now sold.
