No 19 Lindsley St

The Wallarah Coal-mining Company built no house here. They owned the land only.

There were a number of shacks: Tom Dumbledon; Jenny and Meggsie Price and children; Tom and Annie Price and family. A house was built after the war by Alex and Thel Price.

In 1964 the Mining Company ‘Coal & Allied’ subdivided some of its land and determined that Mr A C Price would purchase this very large block for 175 pounds.

House purchased and a large residence built there by D Poyser around 2000. House onsold.

There were a couple of shacks along the track. Beryl and George Johnston built one. Micky (Smith) McKenzie lived in it around 1947 for a couple of years. Frank and Martha Darcy lived in the other.

Where the Tennis court was Mr Anderson (who lived with the Griffiths) had a farm that went up into the hill, known as Lloyds Gully. He used to sell vegetables around town His big draught horse pushed over many of the town’s fences.(got a bit tired and leaned on the fences)
