No 27 Flowers Drive

This weatherboard and galvanised iron cottage was built between 1908-1915. The Wallarah Coal-mining Company constructed this cottage to house its mineworkers.

Arch Mascord and family lived here. The Mascord family was Aubrey, who played State league Soccer for Adamstown, Stan, Colin, Errol and Gordon. The girls were Deidre and June.

The Flarty family moved into this house. When Ronnie Flarty came home from the Second World War he and his wife Mick moved in.

In 1964 the Coal Company ‘Coal & Allied’ subdivided some of its land. The Company determined that Mrs A M Jones would purchase this house and land for 400 pounds.

In 1989 the house was sold and again onsold in 2002.

The house was extensively renovated with a large addition at the rear in 2006.
