This weatherboard and galvanised iron cottage was built between 1908-1915. The Wallarah Coal-mining Company built this cottage to house its mineworkers.

The Holmes family was the first tenants.

The girls married and moved out. After the parents died Charlie and Ida Holmes lived there.

In 1964 the Coal Company ‘Coal & Allied’ subdivided some of its land. The Company determined that Mrs Ida Holmes would purchase this house and land for 400 pounds.

A daughter Loris and her husband Paul then lived in the house until they built a house in Swansea and moved to Swansea.

The Bevans then bought the house Marilyne Cheers (nee Miller) and daughter Jennie rented from the Bevans from 1972-1985.

After wards son John and his family lived there.

The house is now rented.
