No 8 Lindsley St

Perc Allen is the first remembered tenant of the original house. He was the diver on the jetty. He wore the old style, heavy rubber suit with the screwed on diving helmet.  After him were Horace and Jean (Freer) Hancock then Jack and Lennie Freer.

Bett and Clarrie Jones were the next tenants followed by Mrs H Mascord.

In 1964 the Coal Company ‘Coal & Allied’ subdivided some of its land. It was determined that Mrs H Mascord would purchase the house and land for 350 pounds. The size of this block was just over 42 feet in the front and nearly 43 feet at the rear. The length of the block was a little more than 108 feet.

House was demolished and rebuilt in a modern style
