At the sandhole at Moonie a man calling himself Bud Taylor lived in a shack. He lived there for 15 years until he was arrested by the police for murder.
Where the loading plant is Roy McDougals oldest sister (half) Mary lived with her husband Mr Harvey.
Above the beach on the northern end were several houses. These houses had the most spectacular views overlooking Moonee beach but lacked any services.
Mr and Mrs Baker lived in one for some years. One of their married daughters June who was married to Phonce Craft moved in some time in the early 50’s
with children Ken, Allen and Cathy.
Jack Stewart and his wife and son John later moved into this house in the late 50’s.John is well remembered as a local surfing identity.
Another shack was lived in by Sketter and Jeanie Outram who later moved to Main Camp
