This weatherboard and galvanised iron cottage was built between 1908-1915. The Wallarah Coal-mining Company constructed the cottage to house its mineworkers.
The Lunn family was the first remembered tenants. Children were Les, Edna and Harry.
Edna was a great friend of the Robertson family of Middle camp. She spent so much time with them she was considered almost family.
Edna married Chris Brace, a relative of many Brace who lived beside the Robertsons.
They had a new baby regularly each year, which was always a girl. Chris remarked that he would continue his family until he got a son, which he eventually did.
The son, Harry, bought the house in 1964 when the Coal Company ‘Coal & Allied’ subdivided some of its land. He paid 400 pounds for the house and land.
Harry’s daughter, Val, married Ronnie Wiggs and they later came to live in the house. They had two children a boy and a girl, Darren and Rachel.
The house was sold in August 1994.
