When the Moonee Mine opened in the late 60s early 70s there were two houses up on Montefiore Street that were badly affected by the coal dust. The Coal Company (Coal & Allied) bought the two families out and built them new houses, side by side, on Northwood Road.
The Fowler family moved into No. 3 and it was used as a weekender for many years. They were active members of the bowling club whilst in the town.The Fowlers owned this house for quite a few years and then sold out.
