This weatherboard house was built around 1889 by the Wallarah Coal-mining Company to house its workers.
David John and Maggie Price and family were the first remembered inhabitants.
In 1964 the Coal Company ‘Coal & Allied’ subdivided some of its land. The Company determined that this house and land would be sold to Mrs M Price for 350 pounds. The land measures 46 feet and 3 inches at the rear and is just over 160 feet in length. One of the sons Ces, bought the house for his mother. Ces’s son Ian was given the house when Nanna died (1975). Ian sold the house after a few years for $33,000. Ces was the Mine Under manager and later worked in USA with Caterpillar.
Jennifer Aberhart purchased the house for $116,000 from Chadbourne at auction in November 1990.
A large extension was built in 2002. Jennifer died in 2007 and the house sold.
